Ken Christensen paints with an intensity and bravura that reveals the glory and beauty of even the most mundane scenes. Working on site with the richest of color pallets, he paints with bold assured strokes, clearly rendering the vital essence and energy of his landscapes. Christensen spent much of his life living in London, Paris and Spain, also Michigan and New Mexico. Since 1998 he has made his home in San Luis Obispo, while still traveling extensively. He brings the light and color from all his travels to his canvases.
Ken is also an author. He has published a collection of letters from his years in Europe in a limited edition. He is also the author of four novels, "The Blue Cabin," written in France in 1981, "Up North With Uncle Bob" written in 1986, "Joey Appleshoe," published in 2010, and "Joey Triumphant". He is also the author of two memoirs, "Between the Covers" about his life as a book collector and "92 Winslow Gardens" about his life in London, published in 2020. His books contain numerous illustrations executed in pen and ink.
