Elliot Ciampi Koi Paintings

Elliott Ciampi Koi Paintings

Elliott Ciampi’s Contemporary Realism Paintings focus on the
graceful movements and vivid colors of the Koi fish.

Corridan Gallery is proud to present “The Koi Paintings”, a solo exhibit of paintings by Elliott Ciampi. The exhibit will hang from January 15 through February 28, 2009. There will be “An afternoon with the Artist” to celebrate his masterful work on Saturday, January 24 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
Mr. Ciampi’s paintings have developed from a lifetime of contemplative observation and love of nature. An accomplished Landscape painter, he originally worked “en plein air” and now combines his outdoor art experience with studio painting, which allows him to work in a larger format. After many years of painting with Oils and Acrylics he made a switch to Pastels seven years ago. He developed a new dynamic in his studio technique and style by using this medium. Now his work encompasses Oils, Oil Pastels and Soft Pastels. The maturity of his style crosses effortlessly from one medium to the others. His latest paintings have become more powerful and vibrant as they capture the drama of nature.

In his current work, “The Koi Paintings”, Mr. Ciampi has focused his attention on the peace and tranquility of Koi ponds. He has captured the essence of these lovely creatures in their habitat.  By observing their color and energy and following the graceful flow of their swirling movement, he has created dynamic and compelling compositions in this series. His efforts result in works of art that are original and elegant.
